Registration for Breeders
Only aquarists who have bred their own fish and plants are permitted to participate in our ornamental fish exchange. It is also permitted to offer individual specimens from one’s own stock that are no longer suitable for keeping.
Both hobby breeders and breeders operating as a main or secondary business may offer fish and plants they have bred themselves.
Vendors who can be shown to have specifically purchased animals for the purpose of selling them at the fair will be excluded.
Completing and submitting the registration form does not guarantee that the required space will be made available. Registrations will be processed in the order in which they are received; in the event of overbooking, they will be cancelled and the fees paid will be refunded.
The stand fee is €15.00 per metre, plus a cake donation for our cake buffet per stand (including a printed recipe).
The vendor’s stand must be fully set up and ready for viewing by 9.30 am on the day of the fair.
The VDA market regulations must be observed!

Stocking density in retail aquariums
The following requirements apply to stocking density in retail aquariums:
Livebearers, tetras, barbs, labyrinth fish and killifish
up to 2 cm from 7 litres: 30 fish
up to 2 cm from 15 litres: 40 fish
2–4 cm from 7 litres: 20 fish
2–4 cm from 15 litres: 30 fish
from 5 cm from 7 litres: 15 fish
from 5 cm from 15 litres: 25 fish
These species are peaceful schooling fish; being in a group gives them a sense of security.
Cichlids
6–8 cm from 12 litres: 6–8 fish
6–8 cm from 25 litres: 10–15 fish
from 10 cm from 25 litres: 10 fish
Angelfish
from 9 litres: 2 fish or 1 pair
from 25 litres: 6 fish
In particular, the aquariums must be large enough for the fish to fit comfortably with their fins outstretched.
Catfish
3–5 cm (from 9 litres): 10 fish
3–5 cm (from 12 litres): 15 fish
3–5 cm (from 25 litres): 30 fish
6–12 cm (from 9 litres): 4 fish
6–12 cm from 12 litres: 6–8 fish
6–12 cm from 25 litres: 12–15 fish
Young antenna catfish feel much more at home in a group until they reach sexual maturity at around 6 cm,
so the stocking density can be slightly higher here.
Cory catfish
2–4 cm from 7 litres: 30 fish
As the armoured catfish is a schooling fish, the presence of conspecifics provides them with a sense of security. This contributes to
calm within the group.
Male betta fish
One male per 1 litre in the sales tank or compartment.
